The event is located at the Sheraton New York at 811 Seventh Ave at 53rd Street in Midtown Manhattan, 212.582.1000. Book a room!

*WHEN IS IT?
July 4-6, 2008.Check-in will be held on both Thursday, July 3rd at 2:00 pm and Friday, July 4th at 7:30 am. Classes begin on July 4th at 9:00 am

*WHERE CAN I PARK DURING THE EVENT?
The Sheraton offers $37/day parking with no in and out privileges.
Command Parking—7th Ave and Broadway—$34/day
Primary Parking—10th Ave and 49th $25/day
Judson View Garage, LLC—10th Ave and 51st —$21/day

*HOTEL FEATURES:

· Atlantis Fitness Center: Guests have access to everything from stationary bikes and stair climbers
to cross-training and resistance machines

*WHEN DO I CHECK IN?
We will provide two different times for check-in. While checking in you will receive your wristband, schedule, any purchased options, t-shirt, certificates, goodie bag and everything you need for the event!

CHECK-IN:Friday, July 4th 7:30 am
WELCOME 8:30-9:00 am. in the Main ballroom. We will update you on any last-minute news, brief you on your class curriculum, and answer any questions about the week. 

*WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WRISTBANDS?
Due to the popularity of the event, there will be Security at each door. Please be prepared to wear and show your wristbands at all times. Please keep your wristband on until the END of the workshop. Wristbands will not be replaced.  **NOTE: Your wristband ONLY allows access to classes labeled “Teacher Workshop” (Unless you have purchased the All Access Upgrade to the PULSE classes)

*WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?
We are casual for class! No dress code is required for the Teacher Workshop. Come as you are! Most participants wear loose fitting clothes. Remember, you will be dancing on carpet so bring several dance shoe options such as jazz shoes, sneakers for hip-hop, dance paws, high-top socks or whatever you feel comfortable in. Of course, our TAP classes will be held on parquet wood- so don’t forget your tap shoes!

Observers do NOT have access to your Teacher Workshop classes. We want to provide you with a private environment to learn! Only Teacher Workshop and ALL ACCESS bands will be allowed into your classes. 

*WHERE WILL I GET LUNCH AND SNACKS FOR BREAKS?
A sports bar, restaurant and snack bar are located INSIDE the Sheraton and hundreds of quick meal spots are right outside the doors. Lunch is on your own.

*IF I WANT TO BUY SOMETHING ON-SITE AT THE WORKSHOP, HOW CAN I PAY?
You can pay with cash and credit card (Mastercard or Visa only) at the retail store. At customer service we will accept cash as well as Mastercard and Visa for purchases over $20.

*WHAT ON-SITE SHOPPING IS AVAILABLE?
Shopping will be available to Teacher Workshop participants. At the Dance Expo, a room full of vendors, you will see the latest in dancewear and dance-related materials. Please support our vendors such as Capezio, Nappy Tabs, Dance World Bazaar, and more, who bring the latest dance merchandise for you to see!

*PHOTOS
Yes! We do allow still photography all day. This is too exciting not to capture on film!!! Our professional photographers, ProPix, will be on site so be sure to check out the candid photos of yourselves throughout the week to purchase. However, you are welcome to use your personal still cameras throughout the workshop.

*VIDEO
No videotaping will be allowed at the event during classes at anytime. We do have a videographer from SCENE INTERACTIVE who will film each evening’s performance and your TEACHER WORKSHOP DVD! Most combos and highlights from classes will be available on this DVD created just for you! Visit the Scene Interactive booth to purchase your DVD. They will edit and ship it to your home! Our Faculty are copyrighted, union professionals. Please respect them by NOT filming. Thanks!

We know the PULSE Faculty are hard to catch in between classes for photos, and we would love for all of you to receive a photo with them, so we have designed a fantastic system so that you can! In order for this opportunity to run smoothly, we ask that you abide by the procedure created by the staff and faculty: AFTER The PULSE Performance Showcase on Sunday evening, we will ask you to gather line up after the GROUPS of dancers. The Faculty will be seated together on a couch and groups of dancers will approach the couch and take a photo. To expedite matters, we ask that individual dancers form a group of at least five friends. No individual photos will be taken. Dancers and Teachers only. We have professional photographers from ProPix on hand, and photos are available for purchase at the ProPix Booth during the day on Monday. You will also be able to use your personal cameras, though we move very fast -- snap when you can! WE KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE THAT THIS WORKS, AND EVERYONE WILL BE ACCOMMODATED IN A TIMELY AND ORGANIZED FASHION! This is the only time we will host a group photo session with the Faculty throughout the workshop. 
*If you want to take your photo, but do not plan to watch the performance—that’s ok! Come to the ballroom @ approximately 9:30 pm

*WHO NEEDS A TICKET?
The solo scholarship program and PULSE Performance Showcase are free to attend. The Final Night Gala is the only ticketed show. Everyone except for those performing in the Monday’s Final Night Gala will need to purchase a ticket at customer service in the lobby area of The Sheraton. Gala tickets are $25.

*WHERE AND WHEN DO I GET MY TICKETS?
Tickets will be available for purchase and pick-up at our customer service. However, if you are a registered participant and prepaid, all of your tickets attached to your name will be in your packet on the day of registration. Additional onsite ticket sales are subject to availability. Teacher Workshop participants are welcome to join us at Monday’s Final Night GALA on July 7th. Tickets are $25, if you are still in town!

*TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE SHOWS- WHO'S ONSTAGE?

Saturday, July 5th 5:00pm - Solos, all ages and levels, performing for critique, free for all to watch!

Sunday, July 6th 7:30pm – Pulse Performance Showcase including studios showing their routines, guest performances, plus a photo session with faculty, free for all to watch!

Monday, July 7th  8:00pm - Final Night Gala featuring  Brian Friedman’s Intensive Performance, Top Solo Scholarship Program performers, Choreography Picks from Sunday’s Performance and guest artists provided by Dancers Responding to Aids (DRA). Tickets are $25 and available on-site.

*IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR AUDIENCE MEMBERS?
Performances on Saturday and Sunday are casual. Be comfortable! We encourage semi-formal dress for The Final Night Gala on Monday (ie: cocktail dress, sundress, evening wear, dress pants).

The last day you will be able to sign up for options ONLINE is June 19th. If space is still available,these options can be purchased onsite at the customer service table in the Sheraton.

*HEADSHOTS
Need a new headshot for your studio program book? You have the option of having your color headshot done while at the PULSE Summer NYC. Our photographer, Melissa Hamburg, will snap your headshots in a 15-minute seating and then produce a proof CD for you with the proofs. This unique opportunity to get a $500 sitting and the rights to the proofs we offer at the discounted fee of $150. If you have already purchased this option, you can sign up for your headshot appointment at registration. There may still be appointment times available if you would like to add this option upon arrival. The CD of your proofs will be available on the last day at customer service. Just a note; wear solid clothes, textured materials (like a sweater), natural hair and light makeup. Melissa suggests no liquid eyeliner and says that black tank tops or professional wear work best.

*PULSE PRIVATE JULY 4th CRUISE ON THE HUDSON

Join us for a July 4th boat ride and fireworks on the Hudson!

Make your summer experience in the city extra special with a festive Fourth of July Cruise with The PULSE! Enjoy a close-up view of Lady Liberty and see the awesome fireworks light up the night sky as you create your own sparks dancing to our fun DJ. The famous fireworks display is hard to see from the crowded streets of NYC...so we are taking you out for a private showing on the harbor! Enjoy a summer BBQ dinner buffet, cash bar and free soda the entire ride! Bring your children! Teacher Workshop participants are invited!
Boards at 5:00-5:30 pm. Sails from 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm. BOAT WILL LEAVE AT 6:00 pm.
Due to Coast Guard regulations on this special night, the RETURN TIME may vary from 10:00 pm - 11:30 pm based on dock traffic.
Tickets: $120 each. No child rate, group rate or senior rate available. Tickets are non-refundable.

Sunday, July 6th at 7:00 pm - Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 W. 47th St)
Hot ticket alert! Sandy and Danny are back on Broadway! The fresh new revival of this beloved musical stars NBC’s reality show You're the One That I Want winners Max Crumm and Laura Osnes. Please note, this is the same evening as the PULSE Performance Showcase. Ticket prices vary.
***You will be taking a GREASE Theatre Dance Class during your workshop!
